Wow! What a net. We worked until 2030. It was a memorable digital evening. It’s truly a treat working with the ORCA group. I’m ex-Coast Guard and one of the lessons I’ve not forgotten from those days is the value of repetition in learning and really owning a skill. At sea, we often had multiple drills every day. They liked to keep us busy. My hands can still tie a bowline w/o thinking.
We’re certainly moving along with FLAMP. FLAMP kept us occupied until 2230p. The band was up and down tonight, but we did well with MFSK-32. The last few nets we’ve had significant QRM and I’m wondering if some of it might be intentional. Mostly, it’s been just above us, but sometimes it’s right on top of us, causing interference. Possibly, it’s a station that cannot hear any of our signals. I don’t have time to chase it down. If you can copy this station in the future, you may have the opportunity to chat them up. We’re meeting in a RTTY zone but seldom conflict with RTTY stations. Good thing there’s little week-day contesting.
Tonight we introduced a simple form of formal traffic with the ARRL Radio Gram. We’ll continue passing formal traffic on net-freq for training purposes. I’d like to send ARRL Radio Grams to Ops that drop by the net. It would encourage them to return and give the net members practice with formal traffic. It should take no more time than our regular traffic routine.
We also continued experimenting with the RELAY feature in FLAMP. It works very well for relaying fills or the complete file. Steve KB6HOH gave us a useful tip for quickly opening FLAMP RX files. Details in the Net Log after closing.
Walt K6VHG was back tonight. He recently upgraded to General and has made big strides in HF digital and is working with JT-65. Nick KI6RIT was back after a few weeks away; he’s been busy with family events. Nick is the only member that leaves home to participate in the net. He checks in from the EOC at the Ukiah, CA SO. Howard KB6NN was at the movies, but copied the entire net and checked in at the end.
Thanks for participating and sharing your knowledge with the net. I hope to work with you again next Tuesday. Best wishes for a great week. Doug K7KY

FB Doug. I think Ken ssshould have been at the top but I’ll cheet and take it! hihi
Had a GREAT day yesterday. Did some DR stuff and then drugs to pick up then a great breakfast. Then decided to go to the beach! How about
them apples! had a great evening and got a lot of stuff done here. Again today, I was a busy bee getting a car ready to sell and cleaning up spots of
my house that I really didn’t know existed until the dust bunnies excaped! hahaha.
I’m looking at the ORCA website for the VIDIO only ID and I am sure Jim wants that too.
So far, the stations are all in here like gang buswters, but I know that Steve is having a bit of a hard time rcv on us while his usual antenna is on the
ground :( <sad face>
I had something ise to report, but I be dogged if I can recall it now.

ORCA de K7IFG Signals from Doug are falling off but still copy 100%. Kicking the pwr up makes a difference. Rick you need to config it so Flamp boots
up when you boot the Fldigi program. Fldigi config click on autostart tab and go from there.
Relay function should have resent the whole file header and all. It works here that way.
I wanted to tell Jim, KW6JIM, that what I think he wanted to get rid of the video ID at the beginning of his xmission. He needs to go into the config menu
and click on ID and video and be sure the transmit video text box is unchecked. That should take care of it.
Lots of activity on PSK-31 on 20m. I heard KH6BB club station on the Battle ship Missouri from Pearl Harbor.

Good work Mindy on the acoustic cp on ur tablit! very nice! I love stuff that just works.
k7ky de ke6sls — I am available for ur tech support if you still have linux install quiestions/issues. u know my number!
Don and I have both noted that when we change from one mode into MFFSK16 that we go into a REVERSE mode even though it is not our desire to do
such. Ken actully notified me of this a few nets ago. I think it is a bug in current FLdigi releases. if you have noted such a failure, then again, should
notify the hackers at FLdigi so they can see what might be going on,
lastly. I cp all the FLMSG traffic less Mindy’s traffic earlier. 100% here. HOWEVER. Once FLmsg is pulled up by FLdigi, the task bar reports that
FLlog is running.dLUYeah, another BUG! so_there we have it folks.

fb Steve. I have not had any issues with FLamp, but a minor issue with FLmsg. but I think it was my end here with a limited amout of memory on this
very old laptop! FLamp has always been very good for me on this linux machine. I have had issues with FLdigi, sometimes it will just kind of take all the
memory and then act as if it was locked up. However, I know that it really is just trying to cause a race condition and the Linux kernal will then step it and
make it play nice, but for a minute or so, I can not do anything except turn off the xmit on my rig so I am not causing
qrm! hihi. It is not nearly so bad now with current release as it was about 2 years ago. So I am very happy with the whoe suit of apps that FLdigi has.

K7KY de KB6HOH OK Doug. Well Yes and NO. Yes in the fact that FLamp does not open the file in FLmsg BUT you open it up once you have it in the
RX Folder of FLamp. You can of course drag and drop it on to Flmsg from the FLamp RX Folder but that is just another step to do. I have my FLamp RX
Folder setup so that when I RX a file and it already has a File Association to that file. Sorry Im thinking which is a very BAD thing to do for me Hi! If you
right click on a RX File that was created in FLmsg you would do a Right Click on the file name and Click on “OPEN WITH”. Now that is in MS Windows.
Dont know about linux or MAC OS. But if you are using windows you shoul dbe able to do this BUT Windows can also be a pain when you tell it to open
with FLmsg. It wont sometimes remember to use FLmsg. There is a way to add FLmsg to the OPEN with programs. It is a Utility that I run here that puts
FLmsg into the directory. Does any of this make since??
So BTU Doug K7KY de KB6HOH k
Rt0¹a\f KB6HOH It does, Steve… Thanks for thinking and keep it up… I forgot some of this and didn’t know all of what you described, but we’ve been

mention anytime you update FLmsg make sure you also update it in FLdigi and also when you do the file association of a RX or even a TX file you need
to do the same thing there. Also the diff forms of FLmsg that are RX will need to be done as well but that shoudl be far and few between. 73 to all and I
