Thanks for taking time to check-in to our first daytime net. It went very well considering band condx. My power was 35w. We checked in seven stations on 40m and seven on 80m. A couple surprises for me today. James KF7KVP in Brookings,OR, one of our Pelican Bay ARC comrades, checked in with us for the first time, and Gary K7EK, an old radio friend who moved to KY, but happens to be back for a visit in Spanaway,WA.

Unfortunately, we didn’t get any UT stations, but I’m fairly confident we can work them during the day. It’s not unusual to hear from a UT station like W1EEP or WA7HHE on Tues afternoon while we’re preparing for the evening net @ 5w. Bob W7GBB was great copy here at 80w, but the only other station he copied on 40m was Doug WA6VAC in Republic,WA . On 80m he could only hear NCS.  Howard KB6NN only copied Gary K7EK on 40m but checked in OK on 80m where he could only hear NCS & Mindy W7ZAP. We heard from Tim K7TRP in Hillsboro,OR on 40m, but not on 80m.

Tim is the Oregon Digital Net NCS. They meet every Friday evening, 2000p/0400z, 3579 +1500, PSK31. Check in on Friday evening and say Hello from ORCA. Condx have hindered my check-in with Tim lately.  On 40m,Eric KK6RKY in Trinity Center,CA, could only hear Doug WB6VAC in Republic,WA. Daytime operations may require more use of the FLAMP RELAY feature.

Ralph WB6SDR sent a small color image on 80m that printed pixel perfect for Mindy & I. I really appreciate the image feature in fldigi.

Thanks again for taking time from your weekend to test daytime condx with us. I look forward to working with you next Tuesday evening.
