PATH EVALUATION MACRO (Win & Linux) This is a more complex macro; it needs careful attention to detail. In particular, there's a space btwn . W/o that space, doesn't execute. Why, I don't know. This Macro needs a space between or a space after . If you know why, let me know. The two leading blank lines separate your TEXT from HF noise. The Macro below is only an Example, it won't find the Image on your PC. Follow these instructions carefully: 1) Right click a button to open the Macro Editor, leave line 1 & 2 blank. On the third line cpy/paste, 'ORCA < ' 2) Put the cursor btwn |. In 'Select Tag' Menu, highlight , & click Green Arrow 3) File Manager opens. Navigate to where you saved, 'ORCAtest.png' and Select it. (if it's not visible, go the bottom right File Manager and select 'All Files (*.*)' Now Select, 'ORCAtest.png' and OPEN). 4) default is Color. For Grayscale images, insert the argument, 'G,' after the colon, exactly as in the Example below. Grayscale images take .5x/time of Color. Image transmits in 33sec. Name and Save. 5) TEST your Macro w/o transmitting. When it works in FLDIGI, it should work correctly on-air. If your transmitter remains on, reread the instructions. Test it on-air with a colleague. ------- ORCA < <@TXRSID:off> ------- We'll use this Macro to reveal path quality, one station-2-all stations, and all stations-2-Net Control. On occasion, we'll ask one station to send the ORCA test image. All receiving stations will email the image to NCS for publication in the Net Report. It will be interesting to see how everyone copies a single station. On other occasions, we'll ask all Active stations to send the image and we'll publish Net Control's reception of all stations. It should be interesting and useful. It may help choose Relays w/o trial & error. It may help evaluate station configuration. We'll learn something about paths between member stations too. We're learning more about macros. We may find other uses.
